Board of Directors Approves EMS Levy Resolution

The Marysville Fire District Board of Directors adopted a resolution to place an Emergency Medical Services (EMS) levy on the ballot for the election August 1.

The EMS levy would be imposed instead of the existing EMS levies in place for the City of Marysville and Fire District 12. Approval of the proposed EMS levy will provide the Marysville Fire District the authority to impose a regular levy of $0.50 or less per $1,000 of assessed property valuation for each of ten consecutive years.

This important levy will allow the district to continue to pay the costs to provide necessary life protection services and facilities for EMS to the residents in Marysville and Fire District 12. The funds raised by the levy will be used only for providing emergency medical services, including related personnel costs, training and equipment.

Anyone with questions about the EMS levy is encouraged to contact Fire Chief Ned Vander Pol at 360-363-8500 or email fire@mfdrfa.org.
