Firefighters Transport Three People Injured in House Fire

(October 28, 2022) Firefighters transported three people with smoke inhalation and burn injuries to a hospital following a Marysville house fire Thursday night.

Marysville Fire District firefighters provided advanced life support to a critically injured woman in her 50s. Firefighters also treated a seriously injured man in his 50s and an 18-year-old woman who appeared to be in stable condition. All were taken to Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett.

Firefighters were dispatched to the call in southwest Marysville, north of Marine Drive NE, shortly before 9 p.m. Neighbors called 911 reporting a house on fire with people possibly inside. When firefighters arrived minutes later, they found heavy fire and smoke coming from the home. All three people inside had escaped and were being helped by neighbors. A further search of the residence confirmed everyone was out. Firefighters extinguished the fire 15 minutes after arriving on scene. Flames and smoke severely damaged the home.

“Fire can happen to anyone at any time,” said Fire Marshal Tom Maloney. “If you have not tested your smoke alarms recently, we implore you to do that today. Working smoke alarms can save your life.”

Test smoke alarms at least once a month by pushing the test button. Replace all smoke alarms in your home every 10 years. Smoke alarms should be installed in every sleeping room, outside each separate sleeping area and on every level of your home.

Marysville Fire District thanks Tulalip Bay Fire, Everett Fire and Snohomish County Fire District 19 for providing assistance with this fire. The Snohomish County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause.
