Woman Critically Injured After Tree Falls Onto Home

(November 5, 2022) Marysville firefighters transported a critically injured woman to the hospital Friday night after a tree fell onto a Marysville home.

Firefighters were dispatched just after 10:30 p.m. to a report that a fallen tree had trapped someone inside a home at 56th Dr NE and 105th Pl NE. The patient, an approximately 20-year-old female, had already been extricated before firefighters arrived. Both Marysville Police and firefighters performed CPR on the patient. Firefighters transported the patient to Providence Regional Medical Center in critical condition.

This was one of more than 80 emergency calls Marysville firefighters received over a 10-hour period during the peak and aftermath of severe weather Friday.

Firefighters provided mutual aid in response to another tree that fell onto a residence in the Port Susan Camping Club. In that incident, Marysville firefighters assisted in extricating one patient and treatment of another patient. Throughout the night, firefighters also responded to numerous other reports of fallen trees, downed power lines, fires and other emergencies.

We encourage residents to avoid travel if possible Saturday while responding agencies continue to clean storm debris. It is never safe to approach a downed power line. Any downed electrical lines should be treated as live wires. If you are in a vehicle that has crashed into a downed power line, call 911 and stay in the vehicle until help arrives, if safe to do so.
